Job Title: Vice President of Operations

Location: Oakland, CA

OCCUR is seeking a Vice President of Operations to play a pivotal role in shaping our strategic operational direction. You will bring your expertise to drive efficiencies, guide the organization through scaling efforts, and align our operational strategies with the organization’s overall vision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set, implement, and communicate the strategic direction of OCCUR’s operations.

  • Collaborate with President/CEO to ensure organizational decisions, including staffing, development, material efficiency, hardware acquisitions, and facilities align with the strategic vision.

  • Identify, recommend, and implement new processes, technologies, and systems to improve organizational efficiency and resource management.

  • Review and approve contracts, cost estimates, and staffing requirements for projects.

  • Deliver performance reports and metrics to the President/CEO and stakeholders.

  • Identify training needs and ensure appropriate training is developed and provided.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Duties:

  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train management-level staff in the department.

  • Oversee the daily workflow of the organization.

  • Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.

  • Manage discipline and termination of employees in accordance with organizational policies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage ambiguity and drive vision and purpose.

  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required; an MBA is preferred.

  • A minimum of 10 years of industry-related experience including three years in upper management.

Supervisory Duties:

  • Oversee the Director of Communications, Director of Entrepreneurship, and Director of Technology Education.

This role reports directly to the President/CEO, with supervisory duties over the Director of Communications, Director of Entrepreneurship, and Director of Technology Education.
